Do I need a prescription to have a radiology procedure?

Yes, you will need a prescription from your doctor for most of the radiology services offered by Diagnostic Professionals, Inc., including MRI, CT scan, ultrasound, X-ray, nuclear medicine, mammography, and DEXA.

However, you do not need a prescription for the BMI and LifeScan procedures. Our DPI physician will write out your prescription.

Do I need an appointment for a radiology procedure?

Yes, you will need to make an appointment in advance for a radiology procedure at DPI except X-Rays*. We offer convenient hours on weekdays, including early morning and evening appointments, and appointments by request on Saturdays and Sundays. *We accept X-Ray walk-ins between the hours of 9am and 3pm. Please not the your insurance company may need to authorize your X-Ray or require a referral from your Primary Care Doctor. Please check with your insurance company prior to your visit.

How do I prepare for my radiology procedure?

We will give you detailed instructions on preparing for your diagnostic imaging procedure before you arrive for your appointment. In the meantime, here are some general tips to help prepare for your visit.

How do I get the results of my radiology procedure?

The results of your diagnostic imaging procedure will be provided to your referring physician, and you can also obtain a copy from us if you wish after your physician has reviewd them. Results of BMI and LifeScan procedures will be provided directly to you.

How much will my radiology procedure cost?

Coverage for imaging tests will vary depending upon your insurance. Contact your insurance company for more information on your specific coverage, or you may also contact our billing specialists at (954) 566-4551 for any billing questions before or after your radiology procedure. BMI and LifeScan testing are generally not covered by insurance.

What training do the DPI physicians and staff have?

All of the DPI radiologists are fellowship trained, meaning they have received extra training in their fields, and all of our radiology technologists who perform the imaging tests are certified by the American College of Radiology. Our DPI physicians and staff have years of training and experience in diagnostic imaging techniques and interpretation.
